What I have learned today :)

Today I have learned that I have never lived in a society where the www hasn't existed! I have also learned that I am the same age as David Muirs daughter :)

  1. Hi Gillian

Excellent Blog post :-) - You are obviously a lot younger than me as I do remember when there was no www and we hardly used computers in school - god I feel old.

    Keep up the good blogs

  2. I remember when the web was very new, especially to the home and it was so difficult. You had to know the web address exact to the letter or you couldn't get to the page you wanted. They had 'Keywords' to make it easier but compared to now with all these fancy search engines, which can get you exactly what you want in seconds, it's a completely different world. Imagine another 25 years from now, we'll still be teaching!

  3. I can't remember when it happened but I do remember remarking to a colleague that in general the BBC stopped telling you to go to "w w w dot b b c dot... etc." for program information but told you to search for the name of the programme instead.
